Earlier this year, the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR) launched the Intercept Outcomes Tool (IOT), providing select users access to regulator-held intercept and non-compliance data through NHVR Go for the first time.
We are excited to announce that the tool is now available to all industry operators who have linked their registrations in NHVR Go, marking a major step forward in providing industry with faster, clearer visibility into intercept and compliance outcomes. This expanded access supports safer operations, stronger performance, and more informed decision-making in meeting Heavy Vehicle National Law (HVNL) compliance obligations.
Developed with industry, for industry, the IOT brings NHVR-conducted intercept and compliance data into a single, centralised location, giving operators near-real-time visibility of fleet intercepts without reliance on manual updates. NHVR-conducted intercept data is refreshed every 24 hours, while non-NHVR-issued defects are updated in line with the agencies’ schedule.
The tool is intended to support operational awareness, not as a single source of truth. It is designed to complement existing systems and processes, but does not replace record-keeping requirements.
All data is de-identified to protect driver privacy. The tool is not used for enforcement or monitoring by the NHVR. Rather, it is a free, voluntary service designed to support operators in identifying emerging or recurring non-compliance trends and taking timely, proactive action.
Operators can access the IOT through NHVR Go.
