Nutrition in Sheds pilot drives national Healthier Choices Badge rollout across transport, warehousing and logistics A workplace nutrition pilot, delivered by Healthy Heads in Trucks and Sheds (Healthy Heads) in partnership with Charter Hall and implemented via Morsl’s workplace micro-market solution, has shown that small, evidence-based tweaks to workplace food environments can significantly boost healthier eating habits across the warehousing and logistics sector. The Nutrition in Sheds Pilot Program demonstrated that subtle changes in how food and drinks are presented, rather than restricting choice or altering prices, can meaningfully influence purchasing decisions. Central to the pilot was the Healthier Choices Badge, a clear shelf label that makes healthier options more visible and easier to identify at the point of purchase. Data collected through Morsl’s micro-market platform demonstrated strong behavioural shifts across participating workplace sites. Overall sales of healthier food and drinks increased by 15%, while sales of healthier beverages rose by 42%. Sales of zero and low-sugar drinks also more than doubled, driven primarily by improved visibility and awareness within the micro-market environments. Melissa Weller, General Manager of Healthy Heads, said the findings highlight the power of practical interventions in busy workplaces. “This pilot proves that small, practical changes to food environments can have a meaningful impact on what people eat at work,” Weller said. “The Healthier Choices Badge is a simple, scalable solution that helps people in our sector make better choices.” Charter Hall, which played a pivotal role in supporting the pilot, emphasised the broader impact of workplace design on wellbeing. “Charter Hall is proud to have supported the Nutrition in Sheds pilot,” said Richard Stacker, Industrial & Logistics CEO. “These results show how considered workplace design, including food and beverage offerings, can improve wellbeing, safety, and productivity for our tenant customers and their teams.” Participating organisations also welcomed the initiative’s evidence-based approach. “Participating in this evidence-based initiative aligns closely with our commitment to the health and safety of our people,” said Simon Peacock, General Manager of Optimisation, DC Support and Compliance at Primary Connect. "The Healthier Choices Badge is straightforward to implement, and we’re pleased to collaborate with Healthy Heads to help expand its reach across the industry." Australia Post is another company interested in the initiative and is excited to explore how the Badge can enable healthier food choices across its sites. “Looking after our people’s health and wellbeing is important to us,” said Australia Post Group Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, Paul Graham. “The early results look promising, and we’re keen to see how the Healthier Choices Badge and new nutrition guidelines could make a practical difference at our sites - especially for drivers who need healthy food that’s easy to grab.” The rollout across Primary Connect and Australia Post sites will be delivered through Morsl’s existing workplace micro-market infrastructure, providing an immediate and practical mechanism for national scale implementation. Morsl CEO Karla Borland said the pilot results reinforce the importance of access and visibility in shaping behaviour. “Access drives behaviour. This trial proves that when healthier options are visible and convenient, people choose them. Through our national micro-market network, Morsl is now working with our partners to deliver that impact at scale.” A comprehensive Nutrition in Sheds Pilot Case Study has been released alongside this announcement, detailing the methodology, evidence base, site outcomes, and key learnings. Building on these results, Healthy Heads will lead the national expansion of the Healthier Choices Badge, delivered operationally through partners including Morsl’s national workplace network. The rollout will be accompanied by newly developed, industry-specific Nutrition Guidelines tailored to the transport, warehousing, and logistics workforce. |
