Depots, warehouses, and transport hubs across Australia are joining together today for the annual R U OK? in Trucks & Sheds Day of Action, as the transport, warehousing and logistics industries face mounting pressure amid fluctuating fuel costs and supply-chain uncertainty.
This year’s message, ‘Ask R U OK? Any Day’, is coming to life through workplace events such as toolbox talks at regional trucking depots, BBQs at distribution centres, and team check-ins at warehouse shift changes. Across the country, people working in the industry are connecting with one another to strengthen relationships and encourage early conversations.
The message is especially timely, with many of those in the transport industry navigating intense cost pressures and feelings of stress due to ongoing uncertainty. Teams nationwide are taking part in the 2026 Day of Action and wellbeing activities, helping build confidence to start meaningful conversations through R U OK? in Trucks & Sheds.
R U OK? research shows that 90% of people who are regularly asked “R U OK?” feel more supported, connected, and cared for, highlighting the importance of regular and day-to-day conversations, not just one-off check-ins. This insight reinforces the importance of asking R U OK? Any Day.
R U OK? in Trucks & Sheds is an industry-wide initiative delivered in partnership between Healthy Heads in Trucks & Sheds (Healthy Heads) and R U OK?, designed to bring the sectors together to encourage openness around emotions and mental health, strengthen connections, and build confidence in having meaningful conversations.
According to workplace mental health not-for-profit Superfriend, the transport, warehousing and logistics sector continues to report some of the lowest workplace mental health outcomes in Australia, with current economic and operational pressures adding further strain, reinforcing the importance of initiatives that support connection and early conversations. Ahead of today’s Day of Action, Healthy Heads encouraged organisations and individuals to engage with the campaign.
Leaders in transport and logistics are encouraged to carry this momentum forward by embedding R U OK? in Trucks & Sheds conversations into everyday workplace culture and planning ongoing support and mental health initiatives. Free sector-specific resources, toolkits, and conversation guides are available at: www.healthyheads.org.au/ruok/
R U OK? in Trucks & Sheds serves as a reminder that lasting impact comes from making R U OK? conversations part of any day.
